New Emerging Technology in Organ Failure:
artificial organ vs. transplantation
A joint activity of the European Society of Artificial Organs
The 2012 ESAO Winter School will be held in the magnificent setting of Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy. The course will focus on emerging technologies for the treatment of organ failure, in particular heart, kidney and liver. The topics and issues in this field are many and they will be treated by eminent international speakers.
The main topics will be related to the management of end-stage organ failure and thus will cover such aspects, as transplantation, artificial organs, organ regeneration, stem cells and tissue engineering. The aim of the 7th Winter School is to ‘teach the teachers’ bringing young scientists from different fields together as well as the industry with emerging technologies. For this reason there will be a poster session dedicated to the above topics. Additionally, the unique setting of this meeting will provide an ideal situation for a stimulating interaction.
